Installation
The SD-M1912 is an IDE
drive and like most CD/DVD drives the
installation was simple. The drive was
detected in Windows
XP without any problems. Auto
insert notification was disabled.

shot from Nero's Infotool
2.27.
It is reporting that the Read speed is:
48 X. Toshiba have
now increased the buffer to 512KB compared
to the 1802's 256KB.
You can see from above, that it can can
also read the DVD Alliance format's "+"
disks i.e. DVD+R & DVD+RW and also
DVD-RAM disks. You can
also see that supports reading of DVD+R
DL disks. Our drive came with firmware
version TM00 and no update was available.
Our review drive is a July 2004
model with Hardware
Revision A
that came shipped with firmware
version TM00.
The software we used for this review was: Nero
6.6.0.3, RecordNow Max 4.60 DX
& CloneCD 5.
SUPPORTED FEATURES - DISKINFOPRO / DISCJUGGLER
From the various tools
we used to interrogates the drive we can
see it supports reading of all popular
formats with the exception of Mount Rainier,
DDCD and HD-Burn. It can read CD-TEXT &
RW-SubCodes.
